There Is A Scripture 07-31-20

“Now that I have become a man, I have finished with childish ways.”

I wish I could say that Father. I wish I could say I am not easily angered, do not become impatient, rude even unkind.

I wish that in forgiving I could say there is no record of wrong done me.

I wish I didn’t have the jealousy that makes another’s falling short a source of satisfaction for me, a way I make for imagining myself to be better than they.

I wish the truth of things were always my desire and delight, a source of rightness and peace.

I wish I could live each day bearing up under the circumstances of life with an enduring hope and trust for sure and final good.

In a world where our knowledge and understanding is partial, where our strength of body and mind is temporary Father, we do await for all things to be made new.

The mirror into which we look now, reflects back to us our image that is supposed to be You. But it is obscure, not perfect.

We pray Father for the work of Your Spirit in us to transform what we see now obscurely and only in part, to be Your image clearly and wholly looking at us.

May the characteristics of love Father… Your love be in us towards one another,

May we truly be towards one another, patient and kind, not remembering of wrongs done, delighting in truth, living enduringly with trust and hope that Your Spirit will work in us an outcome that is going to be good… even Father…when these attributes are difficult, even painful to exercise.

Teach us Father, what love really is and what it takes to do it, then the strength and desire…to do so.

You have told us: “…trust, hope, love; and the greatest of these is love. Pursue love!”

May the final outcome be hearts within us that have pursued after love and captured it and it has become our nature…just like it is Yours.

In Yeshua’s name we pray,

Amen.

May…the Father’s love be in us all.
