Minchah Prayer 01-20-21

Father, only You know whether a person’s motives are truly reflected in their actions. That is information we do not have as we watch and judge the performance of others.
Judge them by their fruits is Your instruction to us.
What You say You will do…You do… Did they?
Your purposes benefit those in Your care…Did theirs?
You are steadfast and true even in the face of opposition and rejection…Were they?

You are perfect, the perfect standard for our judgments.
And in Your perfect judgments, You are merciful.

Those we watch are not perfect…nor are we.

And if we are about the work of living we will all err.

So Father…when we are watching others… may we judge and evaluate others understanding that there will be missteps… error in their efforts, but not letting that move us to ignore the good but even so, to give credit where credit is due.

May true and fair judgments not be jeopardized by our personal like or dislike of an individual, but by analyzing the merit or demerit of their actions… guided by Your instruction to act justly, love mercy, and do to others as we would have them do to us.

Father, may we not become bystanders, watching and finding fault in the performance of others, rejecting those who don’t agree with us, contemptuous towards them even shunning them.

Keep us mindful of our imperfection and that we too are watched by others… and by You.

May we be in unity with You and through You with one another, citizens of  Your kingdom, Your sons and daughters, brothers and sisters living together in harmony according to Your Ways. May it be on earth as it is in heaven.

This our prayer,

In Yeshua’s name,

Amen.
